A week of books

This is a change from our initial schedule, but there is a lot going on this week so here is what we will be doing in reading.
  • Monday we will read and compare and contrast Click Clack Moo with Click Clack Boo.  We will talk about the changes the author made in the text and how those changes modified the story.
  • Tuesday we will read Pumpkin Jack, a story about the life cycle of a pumpkin.  We will create the pumpkin life cycle in preparation for Thursday's pumpkin dissection day.
  • Wednesday we will read a fun book called Creepy Carrots and enjoy our Fall Celebration.  This is a half day and students will be dismissed at 11:15.
  • Thursday we have a lesson on resource materials in the library because understanding how to use encyclopedias, the dictionary and the thesaurus is an important skill we learn in third grade.   Also Thursday is the day we will be doing our pumpkin dissection.
  • Friday is our field trip to the Naval Aviation Museum.

There will not be a vocabulary or comprehension test this week, but we will still have a spelling test.
